The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) is responsible for reviewing all research that involves the use of recombinant DNA and biohazard materials/agents in accordance with guidelines of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. It also ensures that the proposed activities comply with guidelines of the DBT. In addition, the IBSC provides guidance to the ICAR-NIVEDI research community regarding the proper acquisition, handling, transfer, and disposal of potentially hazardous or regulated biological materials
