As part of Swachhta Pakhwada from 17th September to 02nd October 2024, following activities were carried out on 25.09.2024.
To recognize the most unique and inspiring initiatives taken by local bodies to integrate citizens with Swachhata, local art, music & culture.
The ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (ICAR-NIVEDI) seeks to recognize unique and inspiring initiatives by local bodies. One such initiative is the segregation of solid waste management under the Eco-Gram Project, launched by The Anonymous Indian Charitable Trust (TAICT) and funded by Embassy REIT. Commencing in July 2017, the project addresses challenges related to irresponsible garbage disposal and the degradation of soil and water in the Bettahalasur Panchayat, North Bangalore. Dr. Narayanan G, Senior Scientist, and Dr. Manjunatha Reddy, Senior Scientist, visited the Eco Hub, an integrated waste management center, and interacted with Mrs. Pavithra to discuss the waste segregation process, the core focus of the project. And also visited to the Tharahunse lake which is adapted by the Eco-Gram Project for management of degradation of soil and water.
